POSTPARTUM CUEING IDEAS
Check out our new Pilates Community Forum. There are lots of great topics already in progress, including this question about teaching postpartum clients from Nicole:

"What I need are some new ideas for exercises and images that might help [my
postpartum clients] feel like they are doing something even though they don't feel
their abdominals." —Nicole

Teaching Tips
TEACH THEMATICALLY
"Within the first couple of exercises you already know what your client needs for the day. Perhaps you've even figured it out beforehand based on the previous session. With that in mind, choose one thing to work on for the session, and do not overwhelm your client and yourself by picking on everything. Maybe it's just working the Powerhouse or the shoulder girdle in every exercise, or choose opposition, breath, precision, etc. Pick one thing to focus on in every single exercise and you will have a successful session."

—Shari Berkowitz, Director of West Coast Education for Power Pilates and
owner of The Vertical Workshop in Beverly Hills, CA
